Sultry R&B crooner, Tiara Thomas, just released a new single “Tell Me Something” from her upcoming album Dear Sallie Mae. She broke the news about her album in a interview with Hot 97. Thomas brings the same edgy lyrics to this track that you heard from her on Wale’s single “Bad”. Check out the lyric video she released for the “Tell Me Something” below.
Dear Sallie Mae is due out sometime Fall 2013.
Tiara Thomas has some how positioned herself as one of the most popular-yet-somehow-still- under-the-radar R&B artists out right now. Thomas is the raspy-yet-sexy voice and hook writer that catapulted Wale’s single “Bad” into a hit that set the internet ablaze, and I have easily played that song a few thousand times by now. Most have known her without knowing who she is outside of Wale’s single, and we are about to get better acquainted. I noticed Thomas’s dormant Facebook page heating up about a few months ago and I knew we had more to look forward to. Thomas finally emerged last week and sat down with Hot 97 to let us know what we can expect from her this year. She confirmed her new EP Dear Sallie Mae which will be dropping in a few months and new single “Tell Me Something”. Tiara also confirms an upcoming album, signing with Rico Love and Distribution 1, and also addresses Wale rumors.
Rihanna’s edgy persona mixed with Wale’s hit single “Bad”- an anthem for all the rolling stones out there that just cant seem to get the monogamy thing right, seems like the perfect cocktail for a dope remix. The song comes from his last mixtape Folarin and was originally sung by a diamond in the rough- Tiara Thomas. I’ll give it to RiRi she did her thing BUT man oh man it is hard to fill Tiara Thoma’s shoes for that hook. Tiara put her FOOT into the original version, and I can’t help but be slanted to Ms. Thomas. That raspy rough voice on the track gets me every time. Which version do you like better?
MMG artist Wale’s mixtape Folarin turned a lot of heads and now the stand out track “Bad” ft. Tiara Thomas has an official lyric videos. This one definitely needed one because the writing was amazing…especially that money hook sung by Ms. Thomas. Check it out.
