Drake and Future just released What A Time to Be Alive, and will not disappoint you. They might just change cuffing season to turn up season. We can thank Boi-1da, Southside, Noah “40″ Shebib, Metro Boomin’, and more for the ridiculous production. Drake on the What A Time to Be Alive:
“I went to Atlanta for six days a couple weeks ago with the hopes of doing some songs with Future, and when you get around Future, it’s like a vortex, that guy can outwork anybody right now. It’s tough to see someone do four, five songs in one night and not try to match it.”
You can preview and download it now on iTunes.
The internet has been broken once again. Drake and Future have confirmed a joint album What A Time to Be Alive.
For the past few weeks, Drake and Future fans have been in an uproar when a rumor started circulating that the two turn up kings might be collaborating on a joint album. Future took to Instagram to announce that they would be joining forces for an LP called What A Time to Be Alive. This is probably one of the most anticipated collabs since Jay Z and R Kelly’s joint album Best of Both Worlds. I don’t typically pay to see rappers perform but if they went on tour, this would be the one exception.
There’s no confirmed release date, but we’ll keep you posted.
I guess dropping projects out of nowhere is now officially a thing now for major artists. I feel like its a rite of passage that lets you know you made it. If you’re that big, that you can drop music out of nowhere with no marketing, you are on. You can add Drake to this list, as he dropped a new mixtape If You’re Reading This Too Late. Stream and download it below.
Early this year Nicki Minaj made a guest appearance on Beyonce’s “Flawless” remix. Now Queen Bey has returned the favor with a few bars of her own on Nicki’s latest single “Feelin Myself” just days before her forthcoming album, Pink Print, drops. You can stream it above. This collab was definitely better than their first one.
Pink Print is out everywhere December 15th, 2014.
We haven’t heard any new music from Rihanna since her last album Unapologetic. Now RiRi has put a snippet on her Instagram of a new single called “Kiss It Better”. Looking forward to a new album soon.
Comedic legend, Chris Rock, pays a visit to 105.1’s The Breakfast Club to promote his new movie Top Five. This will mark the second time that I can remember where Charlamagn Tha God does not rip someone a new asshole. The show is still hilarious as usual and Rock even hints at a stand up special in 2015. Fingers crossed.
Top Five is out everywhere December 12th, 2014.
Coldplay’s sixth studio album Ghost Stories isn’t even cold off the presses and the band is already working on another. The new project will be A Head Full of Dreams and says that it will be “a final chapter”. I’m not sure if that means the band is retiring but I hope that’s not the case. Watch the full interview they had with BBC on the album below.
Upcoming Chicago rap-songstress, Tink, is reminiscent of late ninety’s early 2000’s artists like nicole wray, Amil, and total. Apparently Tink is a part of Timabaland’s camp and he presented her remix of Rick Ross’s current Hood Billionaire single “Movin’ Bass” on the The Breakfast Club this morning. The original version of the track also feature’s Jay-Z. Tim must believe in her if he’s backing her on a track that features two of hip hop’s heavy hitters.
Tink has liberated several other singles that have been buzzing under the radar but we’re sure she’ll be out of the underground realm soon enough. We’ll miss her but happy to see her doing her thing.
