Common Drops Single with Ab-Soul

Common couldn’t have picked a better up and coming rapper than Ab-Soul to hop on his new record “Made In Black America.” The leak is no mainstream radio friendly but is a back pack rapper fan’s dream. Hip Hop producer No I.D. does what he does best and cranks out a raw gritty instrumental that only a true lyrical wordsmith is worthy of taking on. Needless to say both Common and Ab did their thing. Stream the track below.

Common will be releasing his new album Nobody Smiling soon. No details on a release date but we will keep you posted.

Download: Cocaine 80’s Flower of Life

We got a taste of Cocaine 80’s Flower of Life project when they released track “Higher Self”. Although Cocaine 80’s is a loose collective of artists and producers, it seems like the James Fauntleroy is the head vocalist with No ID on the boards. Fauntleroy is no stranger to writing hits as he’s  also penned and arranged “Get it Over With” from Rihanna’s latest album Unapologetic, “Fertilizer” on Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange, and many others. You can also expect to hear from Common and sultry singer and Top Dawg Entertainment affiliate, Jhene Aiko, along with others from the group on this project. Now you can stream Flower of Life in its entirety below.

Common: 2013 Projects

Looks like Chicago and emcee and hip hop veteran, Common, will be busy this year. Common made an appearance on Late Night With Jimmly Fallon last night, and revealed plans for a new EP, mixtape and album while promoting his ninth film, Luv.

The EP comes first, accompanying the release of Luv, which hits theatres on January 18th. He plans to drop his first mixtape ever in April, and a new LP in September.
